Sending Recognition Using Slack

With the ConnectPlus integration for Slack, you can send recognition directly within Slack! Simply log into your Slack account where the app has been installed by your Administrator, choose the Apps option on your sidebar and search for ConnectPlus to get started.

All alerts will be generated each time there is a new recognition message posted on your social recognition wall as well as for each recognition given through Slack. Alerts will be sent to a predefined channel your Programme Administrator has chosen.

Using the Connect+ Integration for the first time

If you've never used the ConnectPlus App before, you will get a message asking you to "Sign In" to your account.

Click on the "Sign In" button and login to your Reward Gateway programme using your credentials. You will be asked to type in the email address that you used to sign up for your account and the related password or in some cases you may be sent a one-time passcode to your email address to verify your account.

If you have not already signed up to use your Reward Gateway programme, you may have to do this first by visiting your Reward Gateway programme on a web browser and using the "Register to get access" option.

During the authentication process, you will be asked to Authorize your Reward Gateway account. This will give Slack access to your account details on Reward Gateway, therefore allowing you to action things straight from within Slack.

Once this process is done you should automatically get a success message and link that you redirect you back to the Slack app.

Note: If you had already previously used the ConnectPlus App on Slack, you will not have to go through the above steps and would get a recognition modal from the bot which allows you to start your journey of sending recognition to other users.

Multiple ways to recognise through Slack

There are several ways of sending recognition to other users via the ConnectPlus integration. All of which are detailed below.

Note: the ConnectPlus integration requires clients to have the Social Wall enabled on their platform. Clients who do not have this feature enabled will not be able to send recognition through Slack.

• Option 1: Sending Recognition via the Global Search

Select the search bar at the top of the Slack app and search for the ConnectPlus’ Recognise command from the list.

• Option 2: Sending Recognition via the Recognise shortcut
  
  You can also send recognition directly by clicking on the shortcuts icon on your Taskbar and search for the ConnectPlus app. The recognise command should appear in the list and when you choose it a modal window will appear and show you a form that allows you to send out recognition.

• Option 3: Sending Recognition via the /rg recognise command
  
  Alternatively, you can send recognition by typing the /rg recognise command in a DM, public / private channels or threads. This will again open up a modal window and allow you to send out recognition.

All of the above mentioned options will open up a modal window that allows you to start to send out your recognition in a few short steps:

• Step one: Select recipient, type your message of appreciation, choose a recognition category and choose if you want to share it publicly
  Note: Send publicly option may be turned off for your programme by your Administrator

• Step two: Select a Recognition Moment

• Step three: Review your recognition

• Step four: Recognition complete
