When arranging discounts with shops and stores, we're always looking at three key things:
- We want to get the biggest discount possible
- We want to minimise any terms and conditions
- We want to make the mechanism (the way your employee gets the discount) as easy as possible
Loyalty cards win hands down on number 3 - the ease of use. You just do your shopping as normal and show the card at the checkout and earn an extra bonus. What could be easier? But the problem with these cards is that the discount rate is actually very low - as low as 1%.
Loyalty programme | Loyalty discount | RG discount |
---|---|---|
Sainsbury's (Nectar) | 2% | 5% |
Tesco Clubcard | 1% | 4% |
House of Fraser | 1% | 10% |
Boots Advantage | 4% | 10% |
This table shows the rate offered by the loyalty programme compared to the Reward Gateway rate. In all cases the Reward Gateway rate is much higher - that's the value created by using Reloadable Cards and Instant Vouchers.
And the great bonus is, loyalty cards can be used on top of the Reloadable Card saving!
This means that users can use their Reloadable Card to pay for their goods, and still use their loyalty card to get additional bonus rewards from the retailer's own programme. That's double savings!
We're constantly working hard to make our offers easier and more convenient to use and we're innovating all the time. We've always led the industry in despatch times and elimination of charges, and last year we made our Reloadable Cards more convenient than ever by enabling Top-up by Text and instant loading.
