Halfords underwent a review of the additional offers that an employee receives when they sign up to Cycle to Work. The changes are based on employer insight highlighting the importance of safety when it comes to cycling.
The new package will be going live on the 1st April 2020.
Lifetime safety checks on all cycles obtained through the scheme
This means unlimited checks for wear and damage, ensuring the bike is safe to ride. Halfords will inspect points across all key areas of the bike: frame, saddle, handlebars, wheels, brakes and drivetrain.
This is available to all employees who join the scheme wherever they choose to redeem their Letter of Collection (LOC). Employees will need to show their LOC (printed or on their electronic device) and proof of ID at any Halfords store.

Halfords take pride in the bikes they design, build and sell and are happy that all of their bikes are the highest quality. That’s why they offer a Lifetime Warranty on the frame and rigid forks of all Halfords and Halfords exclusive brands.
10% discount on all things cycling with Halfords and Cycle Republic for 12 months
Employees can continue adding to their cycling kit with a 10% discount on cycle clothing, locks, lights and much more for a whole year. This offer excludes Cycling Tech, Turbo Trainers, Brompton Bikes, Electric Scooters and Electric Bikes.
Also, remember that this discount voucher can be combined with the Halfords eGift Card saving employees an additional 10%.
8 Weeks free insurance
Employees are covered for the first 8 weeks for up to £12,000, as well as providing cover for accidental and malicious damage, theft at home, theft away from home or theft from a vehicle. The employee must activate this form the Order History page once they receive their Letter of Collection.
There is a 20% discount if the employee chooses to take out an annual policy.

Please note that all LOCs dispatched before 1 April will still be eligible for the previous package. Only LOCs dispatched after 1 April 2020 will receive the new package.
All offers are still accessible to the employee via the Order History page once their Cycle to Work LOC is ready to download.
