Most of our key business goals require people to support them and recognition is a great way to support the productivity of people. Need better communication between departments? People solve the problem with how and when they share information. Have you noticed people aren’t following important processes? They may need a reminder about the importance of those processes!
Recognize what you’d like to see done more and include in the story how their actions help you, the company or customers.
Start with a metric in mind. If increased sales is your goal, what can people do to increase sales? Talk to your team about the different actions that support this goal, and then recognize people for doing the actions.
Positive reinforcement can work wonders. Sharing recognition stories in meetings and in the online program helps remind others to keep focused on these important actions as well.
