In this article, we’ll run through how clients can seamlessly integrate their Microsoft Teams channels to share their Reward Gateway content automatically.
Note: This article is more focused on sharing recognition moments on a clients Microsoft Teams channel however, the same concept can be used to share any content on a clients program, for example, blog updates.
How do clients enable the Microsoft Teams integration?
Step 1: Create a new channel where all the content will be shared
Step 2: Create a Connector on the newly created Channel
On the right of the channel name, clients need to select the three dots and pick the option that says "Connector".
From the list of Connectors shown, select the "Incoming Webhook Connector" and install it.
Now, give the connector a name and upload a logo. Note that this logo and name will be displayed every time Reward Gateway posts content to this channel moving forward.
Click "Create" and Copy the Webhook URL shown on screen and keep it safe. This will be needed later on.
Click "Done" and the Connector is now setup on Microsoft Teams to use!
Step 3: Create an Integration on Reward Gateway
Log into Reward Manager, go to the Integration Dashboard, and search for “Microsoft Teams” under the “Explore Integrations” tab.
Select the integration and turn it “On” using the toggle button in the top right-hand side and then follow instructions on the setup.
Give the Microsoft Teams integration a meaningful name to reflect what it does so that it is easier to spot on the Integration Dashboard.
Paste in the Webhook URL copied from Step 2 of the setup via the Microsoft Teams Connector.
Next, a trigger needs selecting. A trigger is an event on the Reward Gateway system that the client would like to get notified about on their Microsoft Teams channel. A list of available triggers will be displayed.
Review And Publish
Review the setup and, if happy with the integration details shown on screen, select the "Publish" button to make the integration active.
Now the integration is Active and will automatically post messages on our clients Microsoft Teams Channel! An example message shared on a Microsoft Teams Channel is shown below:
