This week's release:
Global | SmartSpending™ App | Merchant page
We’re glad to share that a new SmartSpending™ App Update with completely new Retailer/Merchant Screens is being rolled out and will be available to all users by 28th February.
The Merchant screen is one of the most important screens on the SmartSpending™ App. This premium bit of real estate is the opportunity for us to make our shoppers (the employees) feel confident about our discounts products.
While the existing screen got us to market quickly by being the gateway to millions of orders, there were still lots of improvement opportunities available for us to take it to the next level.
Here are a few changes that we will be making to enhance the user experience:
A fresh new look and feel
We’re giving the Merchant screen a new structure and a some fresh lick of paint to give it a more modern look and feel. Doing so makes it consistent with the rest of the App as well as our wider platform.
Key product information is front and centre
Users have told us that they found it difficult to locate vital product information such as the ‘Key Information’, ‘How the Offer works’ and ‘Terms & Conditions’ sections. We’ve now positioned these sections very clearly on all the product cards.
Changing from horizontal to vertical scrolling
While horizontal scrolling works for images and banners it’s not great for more informative sections. Vertical scrolling allows our users to quickly scan through and compare products
E-commerce best practices
We’ve deployed some tried and tested techniques to better communicate our offers such as clearer before-and-after percentages when products are on promotion and a timer to inform users when a promotion expires.
The new Merchant Screen
These are just some of the ways we’ve improved the app and we can’t wait for you to try it.
UK | Flex Benefits | Cancellation rules for Insurance benefits
Over the last few months, we introduced several Flex platforms with a set of core benefits that are fully paid by the client and do not require any action from the member.
This worked great with the funding and auto-enrolment options we already have but our product allowed users to cancel the cover if they wish. This created friction with clients during implementation/testing and a risk of running these benefits.
To resolve this, we are introducing a configuration in the product setup that completely disables the option to cancel your selection. Almost all of our flex clients have at least one core benefit so we expect this configuration will be very useful to have.
