One of the dashboards available to you in the SmartInsights Analytics Engine is the Communications Dashboard. This dashboard will provide you with data and analytics on your organization's blogs and pages usage. See below for more in depth information on what the data means for each of the charts in the dashboard.
Tip: These dashboards are interactive! Try clicking and hovering your cursor in each chart to see more data, or to display the data in a different way.
Using the Filter
The filter at the top of the page allows you to fine tune the data you are viewing by selecting a certain group and/or a specific time frame. For example, you could choose the Group Type of Location and the Group Name of London to see only the data for blogs and pages usage in London.
Blogs Tab
Total views shows you the total number of times anyone in the organization clicked and viewed a blog post. Unique views show the same data, except it filters out anytime an individual user clicked on a viewed the same blog post multiple times. For example if you see a blog post and click to view it and read half of it, navigate away to do something else and later go back to view the remainder of the blog post, it will show as 2 total views but 1 unique view.
Post views over time shows all blog post views for the date range selected. Try hovering your cursor over any bar in the chart to see more details on that day.
When people are reading shows a heat map grid to provide data on what days and times your blog posts get the most views. Try hover your cursor on the squares in the chart to see more details.
Please note: all times are shown in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time)
Posts viewed on app vs web shows a percentage breakout of which device was used for the total views of all blog posts based on the dates selected in the filter. Communication channels refers to how a user got to the blog post. If they clicked on a link via the blog tile on the platform, from Slack, from an email, etc.
Note: These charts include a section for "Other". Other indicates that the data collected in that instance was when post tracking data was not present, such as an old bookmark, email, etc. Typically it means it was a web view.
People with most Reactions and Comments will display the top ten employees that have reacted to or commented on all blog posts for the date range selected in your filter. You can scroll up and down within each box to see additional employees.
Reactions on posts and Reactions over time will show data on employees reacting to blog posts. Reactions on posts show the total number of reactions for your selected time frame and Reactions over time breaks it down per day. Hover your cursor over any point on the chart to view more details for a particular day.
Reactions by type breaks down which type of reactions are used the most on all blog posts.
Comments on posts and Comments over time will show data on employees commenting on blog posts. Comments on posts show the total number of comments for your selected time frame and Comments over time breaks it down per day. Hover your cursor over any point on the chart to view more details for a particular day.
Most popular posts is a table showing each blog post, along with the author and date published, and viewership and engagement data on that post.
Most popular blogs shows stats on each blog within a programme, along with the number of posts, average views for all posts on that blog, along with how many of those posts had announcements, new followers, and the current stat on number of followers.
Top bloggers shows data on each blog author. It provides information on how many posts they have published, the total and unique views on all of their posts, along with the total reactions and comments on their posts.
Pages Tab
Total page views shows you the total number of times anyone in the organization clicked and viewed a page. Unique page views show the same data, except it filters out anytime an individual user clicked on a viewed the same page multiple times. For example if you read a page in January, go back and reference the page again in February, and then access it again in March, the data will show 3 total page views and 1 unique page view.
Page views over time shows all page views for the date range selected. Try hovering your cursor over any point in the chart to see more details on that day.
Most active visitors will display the top ten employees that have viewed pages for the date range selected in your filter. You can scroll up and down within the box to see additional employees.
