What is a TUPE transfer?
TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment)) regulations protect employees’ rights when they transfer to a new employer. A TUPE transfer happens when:
- An organization, or part of it, is transferred from one employer to another
- A service is transferred to a new provider
To understand better who is protected under TUPE, please refer to Business transfers, takeovers and TUPE.
How does RG accommodate TUPE transfers?
In order for our Client Support team to assist in processing a TUPE transfer, we need some details for the employees being transferred. The information needed is detailed in the CCV Transfer file which can be downloaded from below.
Once the file is completed by the client and returned to Client Support, it will be processed creating CCV accounts for the employees included in the file.
Important information and Common questions
Child’s date of birth
Contributions will not commence until the child's DOB is present in the parent's account. It can be provided with the transfer file or added by the parent directly in their account.
Is it obligatory to have the employees’ carers’ information in the file?
No, the process of adding carers is straightforward and can be done by the employee directly from their account. In need, we will also assist in registering the carer.
How long does it take for a file to be processed?
Our Client Support team will make sure to process the file within 5 working days and in order for it to go smoothly, please make sure to follow the instructions and formats specified in the CCV Transfer file which can be downloaded from below.
Will the employee/s in the file receive their contributions for this period?
As different clients have different payroll requirements, it is hard to provide one unified response. We recommend this being checked with our Client Support team while communicating the transfer.
