In this article, we’ll run through how to add the “Sign in with Facebook” option to a client program. It also describes the employee’s journey when logging in to their using Facebook.
How do clients enable the Facebook integration?
To enable the Facebook integration, clients need to log into Reward Manager, go to the Integration Dashboard and search for “Facebook” under the “Explore Integrations” tab.
Select the integration and turn it “On” using the toggle button in the top right-hand side.
How do employees use the Facebook integration?
When enabled, employees will be given the option to sign into their program using Facebook as their Identity Provider. The journey will look like this:
Step 1: Employee accesses the platform login page and selects “Sign in with Facebook”
Step 2: The employee is asked to Authorize the Reward Gateway application by Facebook
Before Reward Gateway can access any of the employee’s data stored on their Facebook account, the employee must explicitly grant access to the data. If they choose to “Cancel” at this stage, the authentication attempt will fail.
If the employee chooses to “Continue as {name}”, they will grant Reward Gateway access to the their email address, birthday and any public profile information.

Step 3: The employee is logged into their platform
Reward Gateway will lookup the employee based on the information passed from Facebook and try to locate a registered account. If a valid account is found, the employee will be logged in automatically. If not, they will be prompted to complete a registration step to gain access.
Can employees remove their Facebook account from their Reward Gateway account?
Yes, at any time employees can go to the “Security Center” section of their account to remove their Facebook account by pressing the “Unlink” button shown below. The Security Center can be found through the ‘My Account” section of their program or by typing “/Security” after your program’s URL – https://[YOUR_PROGRAM_URL]/Security.
