Logging on made easy
What do we mean by Authentication?
In order to allow users onto your platform we need to authenticate them against their registered details. We can also use a host of other systems to provide this information making it a single click of a button for the user.
How can we make it easier?
Things to consider when setting up Single Sign-On
What System is best to use?
-
Do all of my employees have access to it?
-
If not, will you give them access or will we need to allow members to access their Reward Gateway program directly through an email address and password (Dual login)
-
Do your employees use this system every day?
-
Is there the internal resource to set this up?
-
If not, have you contacted your supplier in advance?
-
Do you need to create user groups? If so, what are they? (This can be used to separate contractors or part-time staff)
What do you want your SSO to do?
-
Will your SSO be on the only way to sign onto the Reward Gateway program?
-
Would you want your users to be able to register using the SSO as well?
-
Will there be multiple points of access to your platform ie. CRM system and intranet?
-
When do you need the SSO to be completed?
What data is best to use?
-
To use Single Sign-On, your system will pass Reward Gateway a unique ID per user (typically this would be the same unique identifier we receive through your eligibility file). We’ll need to make sure this data is also in your member eligibility list.
-
Do you wish to pass more information than the SSO ID? If so, what will this be?
What happens if I choose to have Dual Login?
-
Dual login simply means that users can either use the Single Sign-On or enter their email and password to gain access.
-
For businesses where the demographic includes staff that are an ‘offline’ workforce and may not have access to your Single Sign-On system, they will always be able to log onto the platform.
-
If your Single Sign-On system requires users to be on the business network to log on this give users a chance to access the platform from a home network.
