Introduction
This article gives an overview of the Email Digest feature in the engagement platform. The information is intended for clients to gain an understanding of how it works, what content in included in the Email Digest, and how it can be turned on for their programme.
Email Digest
Email Digest gives the ability to send out a weekly, or biweekly, personalized email to employees, with content they haven’t interacted with on the platform from the week prior.
It can be configured to include any of the following content:
- Blogs
- Pages
- Surveys
- Reward & Recognition (R&R)
- Award Balance
The Email Digest gets auto-sent every Monday at 9am (member's local time zone) to all member's who have activated their account.
You can also decide whether to receive the Email Digest weekly or fortnightly, as per your requirements.
Key Uses for Clients
By sending each member a weekly personalized email with content they haven’t interacted with on the platform from the week prior, more users will login to the site and interact with content. You can expect to see higher usage in each product area included in the digest (e.g., more views on blogs, higher participation in surveys).
In addition, by sending members a reminder with their outstanding Award Balance, they will be more likely to spend it.
During our beta test with 20 clients, we observed a staggering 23% average increase in unique views per month for the product areas included in the digest. Talk about turbocharging engagement!
How It Works
Once enabled, Email Digest sends a weekly email to all members including the top Blogs, Pages, and Surveys they have not interacted with, as well as their usage on R&R over the period and finally, the outstanding Award Balance.
The programme's Client Success Manager and Smart Hub Administrators get access to configure Email Digest from the moment it's been enabled. Any of these sections (Blogs, Surveys, etc.), or Email Digest as a whole, can be toggled on or off.
How It Looks
Here is what the digest will show subscribers (personalized with your company branding):
- The top 3 unread Blog Posts.
- The 4 most recently added or updated SmartHub Pages.
- The top 2 surveys they have not yet participated in.
- Any outstanding Award Balance (only if they have more than £5 or equivalent to spend).
Opting Out of Email Digest
Members can opt out of receiving Email Digest by going to Alerts > Preferences, within the platform. Then they can toggle off Weekly email digest:
Note: If the user has disabled email alerts altogether, they will not receive the Email Digest.
Access to Configure Email Digest (for clients)
The Email Digest tool can be found in the Admin Console / Reward Manager (under Smart Products > Email Digest).
It can be configured by anybody with the Communications Manager Reward Manager role. Email Digest is available at no additional cost. Clients can reach out to their Client Success Manager to get information on enabling this feature.
