When users run an MI report, there may be an expectation that the total number of users displayed in the Business section matches the total number of registered users shown in the Key Headlines. However, discrepancies between these values can occur for the following reasons.
Headline vs. Breakdown
The Key Headlines section displays the total number of registered users at the time the report is generated. In contrast, the breakdown sections show the number of user registrations that occurred during the reporting period.
Deprovisioned Accounts
A difference arises when accounts are deprovisioned during the reporting period. These deprovisioned accounts reduce the total number of users reflected in the Key Headlines but do not alter the breakdown data, which counts all registrations for the specified period.
Example: Consider a six-month reporting period
During this time, 100 new user registrations occurred, which will be shown in the breakdown.
However, if six accounts were deprovisioned during this period, the total number of registered users at the end of the period, as displayed in the Key Headlines, will be 94.
This difference explains the apparent discrepancy between the two numbers.
