Cashback - How to Use Cashback to Purchase Retail Vouchers at a Discount (for AUKUS only)

Introduction

This article explains how to use Cashback towards purchase of Vouchers. This guide is for any client or member, on a Discounts programme, who wishes to know about options for using their Cashback balance.

Overview

When a SmartSpending user has selected which retailer they want to shop with, they can add an Instant Voucher to their basket. At the checkout, they will be given the option to use their Cashback to pay.

Alternatively, when they go to withdraw Cashback from the My Account section on SmartSpending, the user will be presented with an option to use some, or all, of their Cashback to purchase discounted vouchers from a selection of retailers.

For example, if a user decides to buy $100 of a voucher at a 10% discount, it would cost them $90. If they also have $20 Cashback to spend, they can put it towards the voucher purchase. This leaves only $70 for the member to pay.

Use Cashback to Purchase Retail Vouchers at a Discount

With your approved cashback on the platform, there are a number of ways in which you can redeem your total. You can choose to transfer it to your bank, donate to charity, or you can use the cashback on your account to purchase instant vouchers and reloadable cards at a reduced cost.  

Follow the steps below to purchase a voucher using cashback: 

1. From your cashback total, you can go straight through to withdraw cashback options:

2. The following options are available to choose from, buy vouchers and reloadable cards, withdraw to bank, or donate to charity. Click on the Buy Now option and you can select from a wide variety of different retailers. 

3. You can also directly go to a specific retailer's page if you want, and select your voucher from there. 

4. Once you have selected your voucher, you will be able to see the relevant discount applied to your purchase. Click on order now, and you will be able to use the debit or credit card saved on the account.

5. Or you will see the option to pay using your cashback balance on the top left of the screen. This shows your current cashback balance and the amount remaining once you have completed the purchase. To use this option, select the I would like to pay using my Cashback balance option and enter your Billing Address. 

6. When ready, click on Continue to confirm your order and complete purchase.  

7. The voucher is now ready in your account which has been purchased using the available cashback.

You can also use your cashback as part of purchase, if the item is more than the amount you have in cashback. Use the total amount of cashback and pay the rest with a credit or debit card. This is a really great way to use money earned through your shopping to pay for additional shopping, taking advantage of great discounts and savings available through your platform.
