The answer to this is very simple - yes!
In SmartPay™ we consider applications to be "active" for the length of the chosen deduction period. However, if clients have deducted the full amount from the employee's salary earlier, an application can always be closed prematurely. Thus, the employee will have their balance refreshed with the amount of the closed application. Otherwise, the application will be automatically closed once the deduction period of the application is over. E.g. If an employee applied for SmartTech™ to pay it off over 12 months but the employee and the employer agreed between each other to shorten the repayment period to 9 months. Thus, in 9 months the employee have fully paid off their SmartTech voucher, the employer can also mark the application as "completed" and clear the employee's SmartTech balance by closing the application in SmartPay.
How to close an application?
STEP 1: Go to the SmartPay™ Application listing, following the steps below:
1. Find SmartPay in the left hand menu
2. Click on SmartPay > Administer
3. Click on Manage
4. Navigate to "Applications" section
STEP 2: Find the application you want to close
STEP 3: Click on 'End application' button
Clients will be asked to enter a reason for closing the application earlier. Once confirmed, the employee will instantly have their balance refreshed.
