Integration
Multi-factor authentication (MFA), or 2FA, is highly recommended as an extra security measure to ensure your account stays safe. It’s quick and easy to set up and, if needed, can be removed at any time.
How to Set Up Multi-factor Authentication
- Log in to your boom! account
- From the homepage, select Account and then My Account
- Select Security Centre on the left-hand side
- In the Login section, select Setup next to Multi-factor authentication
- Follow the instructions on downloading and configuring the authenticator app, Authy, on your mobile device
- Scan the QR code that appears on the screen
- Enter the 6-digit code provided by the app in the Code box
- Select Save
Note: You can also use other Authenticator apps, such as Google or Microsoft's.
When successful, you’ll see the following message:
Select Back to Security Centre to return to your account security page.
Choosing Another Multi-Factor Authentication Method
To ensure that our clients and their employees have more ways to leverage the security benefits that Multi-Factor Authentication brings, we have begun adding more methods to our MFA architecture. We are starting with the release of SMS for MFA, and plan future releases of additional MFA methods, ensuring that there is a convenient way for members to authenticate without compromising the security of our platform.
During the MFA setup, members would notice that underneath the Save button for One-time Password mobile apps, there is now an option to select another way to use MFA, as shown below:
To reveal the available options for your Business Unit, follow the link as shown on the screenshot above and a new menu would be revealed:
In here, members are now able to add their mobile phone number and leverage Multi-Factor Authentication via SMS. Upon saving, MFA switches from the OTP app to SMS, which will be sent to the member's mobile phone, allowing for seamless authentication in the future using SMS.
Note: The framework allowing members to choose another MFA option will be released in July 2025.
Remove Multi-factor Authentication
From the Security Centre page:
- Select Remove next to Multi-factor authentication
- On the following page, select Disable
When successful, you’ll see the following message:
Select Back to Security Centre to return to your account security page.
