Platform Insights - My Team Dashboard: Getting Value From My Team Dashboard

Introduction

This article will give you ideas to better support team engagement by being familiar with recognition usage and participation. Gives an overview of key insights available on My Team Dashboard, filter usage, and how to use the different tabs. The article is designed for clients when using My Team Dashboard. 

Overview

The Reward Gateway Platform goes beyond providing clients the ability to recognize, it also provides insights on how online recognition is being used.

Using Filters

In this dashboard, you can drill down into different groups within your team by using filters. You can use this functionality to compare participation between groups. For example, is the part of your team located in the same building as you participating more than those that work at a remote location? This comparison may help you direct your recognition efforts where they are most needed.

• Is one group logging in more than another? Celebrate that trend with the group. Ask them how and why they are accessing the site to share these best practices with others. 
• Is one group participating less than you would like? Maybe they need a reminder about why recognition is important? Maybe people aren’t sure what to recognize? Maybe your people need some fresh ideas on creating a culture of recognition?

How are Recognition Moments Filtered?

A sender can send a single recognition to multiple receivers. A recognition moment has one sender, one or more receivers, and one subject e.g., a particular eCard, Instant Award or Nomination. The chart counts the total recognition moments that are unique for the filter setting. For example, when you send one recognition with two receivers, and these two receivers have a different Company, e.g., 1 receiver in London, United Kingdom, and 1 receiver in Cardiff, United Kingdom, then the chart will count as follows with the filter setting:

• No Filter / All group name selected: This will be counted as one.
• London, United Kingdom Filter: This will be counted as one.
• Cardiff, UK Filter: This will be counted as one.

This is the expected behavior, as there is only one recognition sent. These recognition moments cannot be added together, because it’s a single recognition, just filtered differently.

Login Activity Tab

This tab is a great way to keep track of who is viewing your platform even if they aren't submitting or receiving recognition on a regular basis. Review who is most active and who is least active, especially if you use the platform to provide communications or shared resources. People who are least active may need a reminder about the value of the content on the platform.

Recognition Sent Tab

Consider trends in how frequently your team is sending recognition. 

Is this trending over time? Give the team credit for their focus on supporting others! Would you like to see more recognition?

• Ask yourself why this may be? Do they know how to get to the program? Consider a direct campaign on how to access and the resources available to boost participation among these employees.
• Does this team have tight deadlines that might leave them feeling like they don’t have enough time to go to the program? Perhaps share information about the value of recognition or set expectations about how frequently to send recognition to support a culture of recognition. 
• Maybe they don’t understand why they should use technology to "say thank you.” 
• Maybe they aren't yet comfortable with the value of recognizing people for tasks that are part of doing their job? 
• Maybe they would benefit from ideas regarding what to recognize people for? 

Consider the types of eCards the team is sending and if any actions aren't captured enough.

This graph shows a nice balance between the types of eCards that this group is sending. You may find that your team is very focused on certain eCards but aren't using others as much as you would like. 

• Consider a campaign that encourages employees to catch people living/doing the actions in the underrepresented eCards. Welcoming others to the team, etc.
• Draft a blog post or communication that highlights the actions included in underrepresented eCards for example, teamwork is an important value. Challenge yourself to recognize someone that demonstrates teamwork once a week.

Review the Senders Leaderboard to learn more about how individuals are participating.

Review to see who is most active in giving recognition. 

• Great work getting missed because only a small group of people are much more likely to give recognition? Encourage the rest of the team to get involved!
• Consider celebrating top senders with an award. Not only does this highlight their commitment and show a little extra appreciation for their efforts, it also sets an example for others to strive towards.
• Ask top senders to share best practices with others on their team directly or through a blog/other communication. How do they find the time? What prompts them to recognize others? 

Consider how many employees are sharing recognition between groups.

In addition to recognition demonstrating appreciation for individual work, sharing recognition across groups can communicate important information about how things work in other departments and can build relationships that make working together easier and more productive. This graph shows a group that often recognizes each other but also recognizes three other groups. 

• Would your team benefit from increasing how much they recognize outside their group?
• Are there other groups you'd like to see them building relationships with? 

Consider asking them to bring examples of how others are supporting their work to regular meetings or challenging them to submit one recognition a week or month for someone outside your group.

Recognition Received Tab

Consider trends in how your team is receiving recognition.

Are they getting more? Great, Keep it up! Are they not receiving as much as you'd like or perhaps, they haven't received a specific type of recognition recently, i.e. rewards. Take charge to get them the appreciation they are looking for!

• Recognize them yourself!
• Ask the team to recognize someone from the team this week or month in your next meeting
• Reach out to teams that you work closely with, maybe even customers! and ask for examples of your team doing good work. You can then ask them to submit those examples, and you can share them at meetings.

Review the Receivers Leaderboard to learn more about who is being recognized.

• Are there concerns about favoritism because a small group of people are much more likely to receive recognition? 
• Think about those members of your team whose work is less visible, challenge yourself and others to capture that work in online or face-to-face recognition stories!
