Introduction
Offline or deskless workers are less likely to have regular access to a computer, smartphone, or tablet and may not be comfortable using technology. All employees should be recognized and acknowledged for doing a good job so whatcan you do to ensure this population shared in the appreciation and is celebrated as much as others?
How else have you been successful sharing information consistently with your team? Use events, postings, spot awards, meetings, etc., to make recognition visible to all employees in your company.
- Consider all the ways you are communicating to this population already. How can you integrate recognition as a means of feedback and sharing information (newsletters, online blogs, etc.)?
- Include examples of recent recognitions at the start of regular meetings. Add it to your agenda at weekly or monthly meetings that you ask, "Who has seen someone live our Values?" This will highlight recognition for those that aren't exploring online recognition as frequently and can remind them to take time to go online to post or read recognitions.
- Create bulletin boards and post paper copies of recent recognitions or highlight a specific group (e.g., Department of the Month).
- Have your team download Reward Gateway's Connect+ app so the team can post or review recognitions and blogs from their smart phones.
- Highlight recognition stories when onboarding new employees.
- For an environment that is not as comfortable with technology, have managers or your people team schedule 10-15 minute sessions that individual employees can sign up for to get assistance in posting recognition.
- Recognition is contagious! If an employee is not using the platform, catch him delivering the experience and recognize him for it. People are more likely to recognize others when they receive recognition themselves.
