Security - Important Update on Password Guidelines for Enhanced Security

Overview

At RewardGateway, the security of our platform and the protection of our users' accounts are our top priorities. To align with industry best practices, we are implementing new minimum password requirements designed to enhance the security of your accounts.

New Password Requirements

While clients will still have the flexibility to customize their password rules for added security, the following minimum requirements will be enforced:

• Minimum Length: 12 characters
• Maximum Length: 72 characters
• Password Complexity: Must include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character.
• Prohibition on Re-use: If selected by an admin, members cannot re-use the last 7 password.   
• Password Expiration: As a default setting members will be prompted to change their passwords every 120 days. Admins can customize the refresh period in the range 30 - 120 days. (or other BU specific period).

Clients can view and manage these new rules in the RM Security section under Password Management

Guidelines for Users

For users, it is essential to comply with these minimum password requirements. When creating or updating passwords, users will receive helpful hints on the password creation screens, guiding them on how to meet the minimum requirements and create secure passwords.
