Introduction
This article provides an overview of Recognition Challenges and how admins can set them up so that employees can participate in friendly recognition leaderboard challenges against their peers. This information is useful to clients and members.
Why Use Recognition Challenges?
Even with a strong recognition culture, everyday recognition sending by users often stalls due to uncertainty about what good recognition looks like, or competing priorities. Time-bound challenges give employees a simple, timely prompt to act.
Recognition challenges allow clients to drive engagement across their platform. Whether the results are incentivised or not, having ongoing recognition challenges results in employees' wanting to participate and send more and more recognition to their colleagues, helping to boost employee morale and drive platform wide engagement.
Whether setting up challenges for the whole company, or focusing on segmenting it to nudging those managers in an organisation to send more recognition - the increase in sharing recognitions across the platform can make a notable impact on employees' wellbeing.
Setting Up a Recognition Challenge
Admins can follow the steps below to set up a Recognition Challenge:
- Go to the client admin panel in Reward Manager.
- From here, they can go through the normal challenge creation process (see; How to Create Challenges)
3. Next, select Leaderboard as the Challenge Type.
4. Now, you can select Recognition Sent as the challenge metric and finalise challenge completion.
5. Invite or enrol participants and start to see recognition increase.
Important Considerations
- Recognition challenges can only be created by admins currently. User generated recognition challenges is not enabled
- Recognition challenges are only available as a Leaderboard
- Instant Awards, eCards & Nominations all count as 1 towards the Recognition Sent metric
- Recognitions sent via any method (App, Desktop, Web App) count towards the challenge
