Background
The world of social media has created a conversation culture, where we’re all used to adding comments to deepen conversations, add our opinion, and express our emotions about the stories we read.
Comments on things like blogs and social media posts allow discussions to happen while encouraging engagement between two or more people.
How It Works
Employees can add comments to the bottom of a blog post or on a particular recognition moment on the social recognition wall.
Comment threading is essential to allow people to easily follow the structure of the conversations happening. Employees can quickly add in their thoughts to a particular thread, allowing for viewers to engage in the conversation and follow it from start to finish.
Threading provides a great user experience, where people don’t have to search through a bunch of comments. Employees can add text, Images, or even emojis to comments, too.
Images Within Comments
Employees can also add Images within their comments. Whether it’s a quick screenshot, a photo from an event, a chart, an animal dressed up competition, or simply a GIF that perfectly sums up your reaction, employees can now drop it right into the conversation, fostering a more social experience for users.
A few key points:
- Multiple file types are supported (JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBPG or GIF)
- Maximum file size is 5MB
- Maximum Dimensions - 'width' => 4000, 'height' => 4000
- One image is enabled per comment
- You can reply to existing comments with images
- You can add ALT text to the image you add, to keep things accessible
How Can Comments Be Used by Employers?
Employers can use comments on their platform to interact with employees and build a community within their platform. By allowing comments, employers begin to create a two-way dialogue and therefore an open and honest, transparent culture; one of the foundational blocks of the Engagement Bridge.
What Control Do Administrators Have Over the Comments?
Encouraging open and honest communication is a great way to discover how your employees are really feeling. However, if employers do see an inappropriate comment made by an employee, they can use the {COMMENT ADMIN} permission to delete comments instantly.
