Introduction
In this article, we’ll run through how clients can integrate social media on their platform with SmartHub. When this is enabled, our clients will be able to see feed updates from X (Formerly Known as Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram. This article is designed for members working with the SmartHub.
Overview
Social media now plays a huge part in the PR, marketing and customer service strategy for most companies, yet many often forget to keep the wider workforce aware of, and engaged with, their social conversation.
With SmartHub, employers can utilize their engagement platform to provide a place where their staff can keep up to date with the latest interactions through automatic feeds for their social media accounts.
How Do Clients Enable Social Media?
To integrate social media channels into a SmartHub platform, the client simply needs to go to the Social & News section of their SmartHub Builder, where they will find the X (formerly known as Twitter), Facebook and Instagram tile options.
X (Formerly Known as Twitter)
Clients can display any public X feed on their employee SmartHub. They simply input the X ID of the account they want to feed in i.e. @Rewardgateway and the feed updates automatically, so new tweets will appear in real time. The title can be customized, but the text style, tile structure, and white background are fixed.
To show more than one X feed on the same homepage, simply add more X tiles.
Similar to the X (formerly known as Twitter) tile above, clients can display the feed from any public page
Simply input the page’s Facebook username and the feed updates automatically, so new posts will appear in real time. This tile can be added to SmartHub in all sizes except 1x1. The title can be customized, but the text style, tile structure, and white background are fixed.
Note: Personal accounts, or pages with age or location-related restrictions, won’t be supported.
To show more than one Facebook feed on the same homepage, just add more Facebook tiles.
As with X and Facebook tiles, clients can display the feed from any Instagram account they own.
First, you must authorize your Instagram account to be used with SmartHub. For more information, see How to authorise your Instagram account with SmartHub.
Once your account is authorized, simply choose the Instagram handle of the account you'd like to use in the dropdown. The feed will update automatically, so new posts will appear in real time.
