The following article provides information on the processes surrounding arrangements for additional counselling services.
Requests from an Affiliate Counsellor
If a clinical practitioner deems it beneficial for additional counselling sessions to commence, they will submit a formal request to Health Assured. Clinical practitioners can request an extension to sessions from the mid-way point and before the final session. Their request will be accompanied by consent from the employee, giving permission for Health Assured to contact their employer.
A request will be sent to their employer, to authorise funding. All additional sessions are to be paid to Health Assured directly.
- Face-to-face and online counselling: £77.00 plus VAT per session
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy: £125.00 plus VAT per session.
The final counselling session involves signposting an individual to longer term support and bringing sessions to a safe end, therefore any additional sessions must be approved prior to the final session.
Requests from Employees or Employers
At times employees might feel differently to their counsellor or disagree on the approach. Aligned to the process above, Health Assured are not able to facilitate additional session requests that come from an employee or employer directly, the clinical assessment and recommendation must be submitted from the qualified practitioner.
Should there be further cause for concern, and the employee has already ended sessions, a request would need to be made to Health Assured via a wellbeing referral. This would initiate further clinical assessment to fully assess the employee and advise what the most appropriate support is.
