Introduction
This article explains which push notifications exist within the Engage App. Members can opt in or out of these notifications, and we explain how to do that below.
Background
Members who install the app will be asked if they consent to receiving push notifications. They will need to select their preference and enable the push notification channel in the native prompt shown by the app. SmartSpending users who previously accepted push notifications won’t be asked to consent again, but they can still change their preferences at any time in the Account settings.
The preference for retail marketing push notification is called Featured retailer in the app.
Types of Notification
The Engage app will only support one push notification type on launch in April - retail marketing push notification.
Push Notification - Opt Out
Members are free to switch notifications off at any time.

Note: If the employee has the app installed on more than one device, the notification setting choice will apply to all devices.
Those who already have a blanket choice not to receive any push notifications on their mobile device (through the operating system's main settings) will not receive a push notification from the app. This is regardless of whether this is set to on/off within the My Account section of the app.
