Introduction
This article offers instructions on what to do if your Apple Watch isn’t syncing to Engage. This information is useful to clients and members.
Overview
If your Apple Watch isn’t syncing to Engage and you’ve already learned how to sync your Apple Watch to Engage by following the steps in this Help Center article: Goals and Challenges - How To Sync Steps From Your Apple Watch to the Engage App, you’ll need to determine whether activity data is correct in Apple Health. Engage pulls your activity data from the Health app because it aggregates steps from your watch and phone.
Steps, distance, and minutes data should be correct in the Apple Health app:
Activity Data Isn’t Correct
If steps, distance, and minutes data in Apple Health don’t match your watch, you may need to adjust your source priorities:
- Open the Health app
- Tap your step count* for today
-
Scroll down and tap Data Sources & Access
- Tap Edit at the top right corner
-
Use the lines next to your watch and iPhone to move your watch on top
- Click Done at the top right to save your changes
Once your source priorities are adjusted, your current Apple Watch should be on the top.
*Note: After adjusting for your steps, you may need to repeat this process for Walking + Running Distance as well.
Activity Data Is Correct
If steps, distance, and minutes data are correct in Apple Health but aren’t showing in Engage, you may need to confirm that you’ve given Engage access to steps data:
- Open your phone's Settings > Privacy & Security > Health > Engage
-
Make sure all options are toggled On
