Introduction
This article offers information on how to sync steps from your Garmin to Engage. This information is useful to clients and members.
Overview
Now that you’ve connected your Garmin, learn how to sync steps, distance, and active minutes to Engage. We’ll also show you how to make sure you’ve got data available to sync!
The Syncing Process
To sync to Engage, you first need to open your Garmin Connect app and click the circular syncing symbol at the top right.
This will pull your most recent activity data into Garmin’s cloud server, which is where Engage gets your steps.
Once you’ve refreshed the Garmin app, open your Engage app and wait to see a Last synced message to confirm that you’ve synced.
We recommend syncing by refreshing your Garmin totals and then opening the Engage app at least once a day during your challenge. All challenges have a 72-hour grace period after the challenge ends to give you extra time to sync your final steps, so make sure you sync before the grace period is up.
What To Do if Steps Aren’t Showing in Garmin Connect
If steps, distance, or minutes aren’t in your Garmin cloud server, then they can’t sync to Engage. You can confirm that you have data available for Engage to sync with by logging into https://connect.garmin.com to see if your Garmin device’s activity is in the cloud server.
