Introduction
This article offers information about how to sync steps from your Withings device to Engage. This information is useful to clients and members who wish to connect a Withings device for a challenge.
Overview
If you have already connected to your Withings, it's time to learn how to sync steps, distance, and active minutes to Engage. We’ll also show you how to make sure you’ve got data available to sync!
The Syncing Process
To sync to Engage, you first need to check that your steps are available to sync by opening the Withings Healthmate app to sync your Withings device. This will pull your most recent activity data into the Withings cloud server, which is where Engage gets your steps.
Once you’ve opened the Health Mate app to sync your steps to the Withings cloud server, open your Engage app and wait to see a Last synced: message to confirm that you’ve synced.
We recommend syncing your Withings totals to the cloud server and then opening the Engage app to sync at least once a day during your challenge.
All challenges have a 72-hour grace period after the challenge ends to give you extra time to sync your final steps, so make sure you sync before the grace period is up.
What if Steps Aren’t Syncing to the Withings Cloud Server?
If steps, distance, or minutes aren’t in the Withings cloud server, then they can’t sync to Engage. You can confirm that you have data available to sync by logging in: Withings Account Login. If you see steps there, then they're also in Withings cloud server.
If activity data isn’t showing in your Withings cloud server or syncing correctly to Engage, please see these troubleshooting tips for Withings users: Goals and Challenges - My Withings Device Is Not Syncing to the Engage App
